Crystal Palace Target Jobe Bellingham as ‘Dream Signing’ Amid Insider Confirmation of Contact:
2 min readCrystal Palace are reportedly eyeing Jobe Bellingham as their ‘dream target,’ with insider Fabrizio Romano confirming that contact has already been made regarding the transfer.
In recent seasons, Palace has been steadily climbing the Premier League standings. After a 14th place finish in 2021/22, they improved to 12th the following season, and last season, they achieved their first top-half finish since 2014/15, ending in 10th place under the guidance of Oliver Glasner.
Glasner’s impact on the team since taking over from Roy Hodgson has been significant, and he aims to continue this upward trajectory with strategic signings during his first transfer window as Palace manager.
Among his targets are Arsenal duo Reiss Nelson and Emile Smith Rowe, both seeking more game time than they have been afforded at the Emirates. However, Glasner is also interested in securing a high-profile midfielder to bolster his squad.
Palace Keen on Jobe Bellingham
Transfer insider Romano has confirmed that Palace is pursuing Sunderland midfielder Jobe Bellingham, the younger brother of Real Madrid and Champions League winner Jude Bellingham.
“Jobe Bellingham is wanted by Crystal Palace, as I’ve previously reported, and he remains one of the names on their list, alongside Antonio Nusa, as they look to replace Michael Olise, who will join Bayern Munich this week,” Romano stated in the Daily Briefing. “Bellingham is also wanted by Brentford and other English clubs, but I would keep an eye on Palace because they are pushing. Their manager Oliver Glasner wants Bellingham, and so now it depends on the player, because if he gives the green light they are prepared to go strong on this one.”
Palace in Contact Over Transfer
Although Jobe Bellingham is not yet a household name, his potential mirrors the early promise of his older brother. The decision may hinge on family discussions, possibly influenced by Jude Bellingham’s experiences and advice.
“As soon as Bellingham decides, together with his family, Palace are prepared to attack the situation. Contacts have been taking place already, and he’s absolutely one of their dream targets, so keep an eye on this one,” Romano added.
Jude Bellingham’s career path, which saw him move to Borussia Dortmund before joining Real Madrid, could serve as a model for his younger brother, potentially paving the way for a successful career starting with a move to Crystal Palace.
