Crystal Palace Duo Ruled Out for Nottingham Forest Clash

Crystal Palace is set to resume Premier League action with a visit to City Ground to face Nottingham Forest, following a three-week break. However, manager Oliver Glasner has confirmed that they will be without two key attacking players for the upcoming match.
Despite picking up one win in his first three games in charge, Palace faces the challenge of navigating injuries to several key players this season. Michael Olise, Eberechi Eze, Marc Guehi, and Cheick Doucoure have all faced spells on the sidelines, impacting the team’s performance and results.
Ahead of the Nottingham Forest clash, Glasner provided an injury update, stating that while Olise has returned to training, he remains unavailable for selection. Meanwhile, Guehi and Doucoure are progressing well and could potentially make their return before the season concludes.
However, Crystal Palace will be without the services of attacking duo Odsonne Edouard and Matheus Franca for the trip. Edouard sustained a “strange” injury during the mid-season training camp in Marbella, while Franca suffered a groin injury in the previous game against Luton Town.
Edouard, who has netted six Premier League goals in 17 starts for the Eagles, started in the recent win over Burnley but has been relegated to the bench in subsequent games. Franca’s absence further compounds Palace’s attacking woes, with Glasner noting that the Brazilian experiences pain during training sessions when the intensity increases.
In addition to the attacking setbacks, Palace also suffered a significant blow earlier in the week when Sam Johnstone sustained an elbow injury, ruling him out for the remainder of the season and casting doubt on his availability for Euro 2024.
