Young Talent Justin Devenny Leaves Ebere Eze Astonished in Crystal Palace Training

1 min read

During a training session in Marbella, 20-year-old Justin Devenny showcased his skills, leaving Crystal Palace star Ebere Eze visibly stunned, as captured by club cameras.

Devenny, a Northern Ireland U21 international, earned his place in the Marbella training squad selected by manager Oliver Glasner, alongside other promising academy talents like David Ozoh, Kaden Rodney, Franco Umeh, and Danny Imray.

In a clip from the training session, Devenny impressively scored a powerful header past goalkeeper Remi Matthews, prompting a jaw-dropping reaction from Eze and a gesture of disbelief from teammate Jean-Philippe Mateta.

While the exact context of the situation remains unclear, it appears Devenny’s goal may have secured victory in a training exercise, judging by the mixed reactions from players gathered around the goalpost.

For those unfamiliar with Devenny, the young talent joined Crystal Palace from Airdrieonians in August 2023, after progressing through the ranks at Kilmarnock. Primarily operating in central midfield, Devenny has also demonstrated versatility by occasionally featuring as a central defender and in defensive midfield roles.

In his appearances for the U21 side, Devenny has showcased his attacking prowess, tallying two goals and two assists in ten Premier League 2 matches, with a total of three goals and three assists in 23 appearances across all competitions.

With his impressive performance in Marbella, Devenny aims to catch the eye of manager Glasner and potentially earn a spot in the first team, showcasing his versatility and goal-scoring ability in the process.
