Crystal Palace Winger Malcolm Ebiowei in Advanced Talks for Loan Move to RWD Molenbeek

2 min read

Crystal Palace winger Malcolm Ebiowei is on the verge of securing a loan move to Belgian side RWD Molenbeek, according to sources close to Football Insider.

While several Championship clubs have expressed interest in the 20-year-old, RWD Molenbeek, based in Brussels, are leading the race for his signature as the transfer deadline approaches on Thursday (1 February).

Ebiowei, who has yet to make an appearance for Palace’s first team this season, has only featured as a substitute five times since his arrival from Derby County. Despite being named on the bench for several Premier League matches, he has not been utilized by manager Roy Hodgson.

The talented forward is eager for regular first-team action and Palace is prepared to facilitate a loan move to accommodate his desire for playing time. Ebiowei, a former Arsenal youth product, joined Palace in 2022 and spent the latter half of the 2022-23 season on loan at Hull City, where he made 12 Championship appearances without registering a goal or assist.

Although limited to youth football this season, Ebiowei has managed one goal and one assist in seven outings for Palace’s Under-21 side. He is contracted to Crystal Palace until June 2027 and has represented England at the Under-20 level.

Meanwhile, RWD Molenbeek, currently in the relegation zone of Belgium’s top league, are three points away from securing safety. Crystal Palace, six points clear of the Premier League relegation zone, are gearing up for a derby clash against Brighton on Saturday (3 February).

In related news, an expert has been left astonished by Steve Parish’s takeover demand, indicating ongoing developments within the club’s ownership structure.
