Crystal Palace could be shifting their focus to Birmingham’s Jordan James as talks for Blackburn’s Adam Wharton stall due to Rovers’ hefty £25m valuation.
According to Nixon, Crystal Palace had initially bid £15m plus £3.5m in add-ons for Wharton, but Blackburn’s valuation has proven to be a stumbling block. With the likelihood of Palace increasing their offer diminishing, attention has turned to Jordan James.
Nixon suggests that Crystal Palace have already made inquiries about the 19-year-old Wales international, who has also attracted interest from Serie A side Atalanta. Despite Atalanta’s failed attempts to secure his signature, Crystal Palace may have the financial means to bring James in, potentially involving a loan deal for Jesurun Rak-Sakyi as part of the agreement.
