Crystal Palace Targeting Brazilian Forward Luiz Henrique as John Textor Makes Move

1 min read

Reports suggest that Luiz Henrique could be headed to Crystal Palace this month as John Textor pursues the Real Betis forward, as per Diario de Sevilla.

Initially, RB Leipzig seemed close to securing a loan deal for the Brazilian winger, although Real Betis preferred a permanent transfer. However, Textor has now initiated negotiations, offering terms more in line with Real Betis’ preferences.

While Diario de Sevilla doesn’t specify Henrique’s destination, Textor is reportedly eyeing Lyon, Crystal Palace, or Botafogo for the South American.

Henrique has featured in 13 La Liga games for Real Betis this season, contributing three assists. Diario de Sevilla also mentions that Real Betis is considering West Ham’s Pablo Fornals as a replacement if Textor succeeds in signing Henrique.

Crystal Palace, under Roy Hodgson’s management, may benefit from Henrique’s addition, despite uncertainties about the 76-year-old’s utilization of the Brazilian, given his limited use of Matheus Franca this season. However, considering Palace’s squad composition, Henrique’s profile as an exciting and direct winger could prove valuable.

With Hodgson deploying Jeffrey Schlupp and Will Hughes in attacking roles in the absence of Jordan Ayew and Michael Olise, both of whom have been unavailable due to international duties and injury, respectively, there’s a need for a natural wide attacking option.

As negotiations unfold, it remains to be seen where Henrique lands if Textor secures a deal with Real Betis.
