Crystal Palace Eyes Former Manchester United Forward Largie Ramazani for £9m Transfer

1 min read

Crystal Palace is actively pursuing a potential £9 million deal to sign Largie Ramazani from Almeria as the January transfer window approaches. With a pressing need for attacking reinforcements this winter, Dougie Freedman has reportedly identified Ramazani as a viable solution, as per reports from Foot Mercato.

The French news outlet indicates that Crystal Palace is closely monitoring the situation surrounding the 22-year-old Belgium U21 international, who was released by Manchester United in 2020. Almeria is said to be willing to accept a €10 million (£9 million) bid for the versatile forward.

Foot Mercato also reveals interest from Lyon, owned by Crystal Palace co-owner John Textor, and Lille in securing the services of Ramazani. If the transfer materializes, Roy Hodgson or potentially Steve Cooper will be adding a versatile forward to their squad, capable of operating in the center or on the left, much like Odsonne Edouard.

With two goals and four assists in 18 La Liga appearances this season, Ramazani’s excellent dribbling skills, combined with his diminutive 5ft 6in frame, pose a challenge for defenders. While there may be initial physical adjustments for the Almeria No.7 in the Premier League, the Selhurst Park faithful appreciates confident dribblers, suggesting the potential for success in this move.

A trio featuring Ramazani, Eberechi Eze, and Michael Olise could create significant challenges for opponents, complementing the attacking options of Edouard and Matheus Franca. As developments unfold, the situation remains one to watch closely in 2024.
