Loan Update: Goalkeeper Goodman Shines with Remarkable Assist

1 min read

Crystal Palace’s loaned players have been actively participating in the festive season’s busy schedule, gaining valuable playing time and experience. In a recent round of matches, goalkeeper Owen Goodman, returning from injury for Colchester United, made a significant impact by not only making three crucial saves but also providing a remarkable assist.

Goodman, in his 20th appearance of the season, played a well-executed ball over the Crawley Town defense in second-half stoppage time. The precise pass found striker Joe Taylor, who capitalized on the opportunity to score his 10th goal of the season. Despite Goodman’s impressive contributions, Colchester United ultimately suffered a 2-1 defeat.

Meanwhile, center-back Kofi Balmer made a comeback from injury, featuring for Port Vale in the second round of the EFL Trophy against Bolton Wanderers. Although Balmer played for 60 minutes, his side faced a 2-0 loss at the Toughsheet Community Stadium.

In League One, midfielder Killian Phillips and forward Luke Plange started for Wycombe Wanderers and Carlisle United, respectively. Phillips completed the full 90 minutes, while Plange garnered 63 minutes of playing time.

Over in Scotland, Malachi Boateng continued his impactful loan spell at Dundee. The midfielder played the entire 90 minutes in a challenging 3-1 defeat against title-contending Rangers, maintaining his consistent presence in 14 out of Dundee’s 15 league games this season.
